The pain was almost overwhelming, as he grasped at his abdomen, where he suffered a gunshot wound. It was only one of many. He groaned propping himself up on one elbow to try and steady himself. His vision was blurring and his breaths were laboured. Maybe he could just close his eyes for one moment - he gasps, as he opened his eyes again.
He didn't know how much time had passed but, he no longer felt any pain. He also felt, lighter oddly enough. He looked down at himself, shocked to find that his figure was slightly transparent, while not too far away - laid his body, motionless. A sense of understanding washed over him as he closed his eyes.
He focused for a moment, thinking only of you, his dear child. While this isn't what he wanted to happen, ultimately he knew you'd be in good hands with the rest of his team. He blinked again, surprised to find that he was now in your room.
"I've come to say goodbye." He smiles, as he slips off his mask. He slowly approached, stopping right at your bedside.
"Where you going?" You murmured in that sweet little voice of yours. Simon hesitated for a moment, a strained smile etched on his lips.
"Ah, you know...just on a little trip." He shrugs. With a sigh he leans in a bit closer, gazing tenderly at you.
"Then...will I ever see you again?" You blinked at him curiously.
"Sure," Simon nods. "Sure you will kid. You know, goodbyes aren't forever." He smiles again. You tilt your head for a moment, as you took a moment to think. Then, reaching out to pat his arm, you smiled.
"Then...goodbye papa. I love you." You murmured softly. Simon tensed for a moment, as he took a breath to steady himself.
"Yeah, I love you too kid." He whispers softly, sensing that you'd soon fall asleep again. When your eyes fluttered as you fell into slumber, he turned away from you with a bitter smile on his face. He felt the light calling for him, and he knew it was time to go.
