Being locked up for the last few months wasn't fun for Eleven. Sure, she has Hopper, who looks after her in his own way and gives her waffles, but nothing compares to being with the boys she met last year: Dustin, Lucas, Mike. Especially Mike. She used to use her powers when Hopper wasn't at the cabin so she could see him. Mike missed her as much as she missed him, maybe even a little more. Until she started to notice signs of disinterest on his part. That hurt more than she could ever have imagined.

Hopper promised to come back early, bring sweets, and spend the rest of the night on the sofa watching films until they got fat. Did he keep his promise? No. That led to an argument between the two of them, and she may have blown up every window in the house, but it wasn't her fault. Hopper didn't keep his promise, and friends aren't supposed to lie, right?

That fight led Eleven to where she was now, walking the halls of Hawkins Middle School, wanting to see Mike. She walked with hope and smiled when she heard the boy's voice in the gym, until she saw him with another girl. A redhead spinning around him on a skate. Mike smiled. He seemed to be having fun with her, as if he had forgotten about her in such a short time.

She couldn't think of anything else and used her telekinesis to knock the girl to the floor. Bad idea. Mike immediately went to check if she was at school. Eleven hurried away from the gym and also to leave school, but then she bumped into another student who God knows what was doing outside his classroom—it was you—Eleven was going to continue without apologising, but you stopped her.

That led to this moment. You were in your room, Eleven walking around curiously. She admired the photos you had on your bedside table, then turned her attention to the radio on your desk.

"I... I like your room," she said, sitting on your bed when you allowed her to, her feet swinging back and forth.
