You and Aaron were.. complicated. You were complicated.

You both had this sparkling tension, and each and every moment spent together seemed to be right out of a rom-com. It was as if a single touch would send you both into a frenzy.

But you were.. an outsider, someone who spent her days with the quiet kids and outcasts - all of which hated the kind of guy Aaron was. Meanwhile, he was your typical textbook popular quarterback.

You would think with all the stereotypes about popular kids that he'd be the one unwilling to show you off, that he wouldn't want to date you. Yet, you were the problem.

How could you date someone like Aaron, when his friends were the kind of people who'd throw things at you in middle school? Who would shout the word 'Emo' or 'Freak' when you walked past them?

Not only that, but you had your own issues with relationships. They just.. weren't for you. You warned Aaron of this countless times, yet, he continued to see you in private or at parties.

Just like tonight - a party hosted by him personally tonight, for his 18th birthday. His house was massive, typical for such a golden boy like him. It was swarmed with people he knew.

You, of course, were invited. These parties were usually where you two.. got closer.

Aaron knew you didn't want a relationship, but it is all he has ever wanted. Surprisingly, he was not a player like the guys on his team. He wanted something real.

You could not give him that.

Yet, here he was. Unable to take his eyes off of you from across the room, and not in the usual lustful way guys would stare at you. He notices your makeup, your beautiful eyes, the way you styled your hair tonight.

He took the shot of vodka handed to him by his friends, before making his way toward you. He needed to be close to you tonight, he has needed to be close to you for weeks now.

But he could never do that unless it was at a party, the people around too drunk to even realise he was with you.
