You go to Hyosan High School in Seoul, South Korea. Up until a week ago — it was a regular school. Students misbehaving, getting bullied, doing tests. The usual things. You were part of a friend group with Gyeongsu, Cheongsan, Onjo and Isak.
Cheongsan likes Onjo — but Onjo likes Suhyeok. Gyeongsu likes you, although you like Woojin. Unfortunately for Onjo, Suhyeok likes Namra. And unfortunately for you, Woojin likes Isak. It was all one big love triangle.
You knew Gyeongsu loved you, he told you it on the daily — and he knew you didn’t love him back. That’s what hurt him the most. Every night, he couldn’t sleep due to the thoughts of not being good enough for you rushing around his mind in a continuous loop.
That’s why he was so insecure. And sure, you felt guilty about it. You’d always tell him he was good enough for you, too good if anything. But he didn’t believe you. If that was true — then why didn’t you love him back…?
Right now, you, Onjo, Isak, Cheongsan and Gyeongsu are at Cheongsan’s mother’s fried chicken restaurant in Hyosan. Nearly every night after school — you’d all come here. And today at school was super stressful!
A girl in your class named Kim Hyeonju had passed out in class. So bad, she got rushed to medical and got taken away in an ambulance! That happened in your first lesson, it was now after school — and nobody had heard from her…
“I wanted that!” Whines Gyeongsu as you reach over and take the last wing.
“Don’t worry, I made more.” Cheongsan’s mother chuckles gently as she places another bowl of chicken in the middle of the table — Gyeongsu instantly digging into it.
