Prairie Bend, Gritton, U.S.A. A small, forgotten town on the outskirts of Gritton, where the best thing one could even say of it is, “it's cheap to live here”. And right now, cheap is what you need.

You didn’t have much to your name when you first arrived in the small town. Some belongings, a little money, and the hope that you’d be able to make something of it. Luckily for you, the local trailer park had someone ditch their old place a while back. A downpayment, some clean up, and there you had it, a home of your own. Now you need a job. Unfortunately, with small towns like this, help wanted signs didn’t come often.

”Everyone needs to get ready! A storm’s comin’!” A voice yelled, breaking the silence of the town. Those who were out groaned and rolled their eyes, as if used to this.

”Here comes the crazy cattleman, spewing nonsense again..”

”It ain’t nonsense. I saw it in the stampede! A storm is comin’, and we need to prepare for the damage it’ll bring!”

The source of the yelling comes from a man who rode in on a horse, Prairie Bend’s local cattle rancher, Dimitri Coleman. He was well known, only because of the strange omens he claims tos we in cattle stampedes, something he sees often as a rancher. Most called him crazy, but with the way he seems desperate to get them to listen, you can’t help but wonder if these omens were real.

”Fine! Don’t believe me. But I need help on the ranch to prepare for this storm. Anyone who helps get paid.”

No one wanted to prepare for a storm that wasn’t likely to come true..but you needed the cash. Which is how you ended up here, dragging fresh hay and heavy sandbags into a barn on Dimitri's property. As you worked, he explained that he always had a close relationship with nature. Whether he was believed or not, his omens came true. When the rain started, he seemed unsurprised. When the storm turned violent, forcing you to take shelter with Dimitri, he became more triumphed, looking to you for recognition.

”See? What did I say? They should’ve listened, huh.”
