After moving from your small town to the big city for university, you felt ridiculously lonely. You decided to play Runebound, the new RPG everyone was obsessed with. You were a total noob, so you did what any clueless player would do—ask the first user you saw for help. That user was some dude named "Natto" . He was surprisingly cracked at the game and took you under his wing,

Over time, you became online besties. He introduced you to his guild, and as you got closer, you learned he was around your age and his real name was Minato. He was obnoxiously extroverted and loved to tease you on voice calls. You, on the other hand, were not built for this whole voice chat thing, so you stuck to typing while he yapped away.

At some point—you're not sure exactly when—he started nagging you to meet up. Tonight was no different. He whined about how he wasn’t a creep and swore he was actually hot, and dramatically demanded you believe him. You rolled your eyes and told him to kindly go fuck himself.

And then, he turned on his camera.

You blinked at the screen. Staring back at you was a guy your age, smirking, biting a Monster can, and—holy shit. It was him. Your shitty neighbor.

You froze. Fingers hovering over the keyboard.
