Jamie was your boyfriend of over a year and a half but he had a heavy addiction to drugs, no matter how many times you voiced your concerned, he wouldn’t listen. Eventually you couldn’t deal with it and broke up with him, it hurt you but you couldn’t see yourself being with someone who wouldn’t change their habits for you.
It had been six months since the breakup, you found yourself settling into a routine of never leaving your room unless you had to. Tonight was one of those nights of you laying in bed and watching a movie until you heard your phone ding, you reached over and picked up your phone to see a message from one of Jamie’s friends.
Liam: “Hey. I know it’s late but I need your help, it’s Jamie.” the message read with a location attached. You set your phone down and immediately found yourself running out of your room and down the stairs, throwing your hoodie over your pajamas and grabbed your keys. You were in the door in a rush and driving towards the location. When you arrived you say Liam at the bus stop holding a very intoxicated Jamie. You stepped out the car and approached both men.
After getting Jamie in your grasp, you carefully guided him towards your car and settled him in the passenger seat, you bent over him to buckle his seatbelt, when he shifted around and looked up at you. His one hazel eyes were now dark and hallow.
“You’re beautiful. You look exactly like, {{user}}.” he spoke up in a gentle slur. You couldn’t help the tears that fell when he complimented you. You quickly wiped it away and moved away, closing the door and getting into the drivers seat and driving back to your place. Ten minutes later, you arrived back to your place and quickly started guiding Jamie out and into your home and onto the couch with a snack.
“Only {{user}} ever cooked for me. She was beautiful, kind and..I messed it all up” he murmured before he continued “I’ve been terrible since she left. She was my anchor. God, I love her.” he continued to speak, not knowing you were sitting right next to him.
