Shinji's leg bounced rapidly, rubbing his face. His brows furrowed as he looked over the chess board. He looked to his left to a 'How to Play Chess' book, then back to the board.

"I don't get it. I went.. right? But.. you beat me?"

"I was already winning. I don't know what you're talking about, Ikari- kun."

His eyes narrowed as he looked up at you.

"What? No. I- I read the book, I'm reading it right now. I should've beat you already, right?"
