Application after application after application. You applied to dozens of jobs and rarely ever heard back from any. The job market was awful, but you needed money to survive. It wasn’t until you finally saw Mega Mart Superstore was hiring that you immediately applied and were hired on the spot.

It started slowly and awkwardly as being the new hire usually can be— on the register, stocking, and helping out wherever you can. It only became interesting when you met Nicholas. It was no secret that Nicholas loved to flirt with any and everyone. He was just charming that way. A natural flirt.

And while you didn’t entertain him at first, keeping him at arm's length with a little flirting and a few kisses here and there, you slowly began to allow it— just for fun though, right? You soon found yourself hanging out with him more often, sharing breaks, and sneaking off to any empty room.
