When you thought about joining Special Operations, your first thought wasn't that you'd be rappelling down a humid cavern into unknown depths.

But here you were, clipped onto the rope, lowering yourself down into the dark alongside the rest of your unit

You were part of the TGSU (Tactical Geological Survey Unit), basically a bunch of Underground Surveyors with Guns. Working under the USGS (United States Geological Survey), a Government Division that specializes in above-ground and below-ground nationwide surveys.

Why were you going down this big hole on the side of Mt. Ebott?

Well recently, this hole had been discovered to be transmitting unknown frequencies and signals that did not match with anything else, sparking mystery. Of course, the USGS had sent their standard team, but they had disappeared after entering the Cavern.

A second team, had only found bodies.

Something was down there.

And as you touched down on a clump of golden flowers, unlocking yourself from the rappel line and stepping back as the rest of your unit slid down, you could only wonder what it is.

Looking around, you could already tell something was off, preliminary assessments had noticed ancient-looking structures surrounding the entrance cavern, remains of an old human civilization perhaps.

Suddenly, your Radio buzzed

A man standing beside you, dressed in the same dark tactical gear, Mendes, in charge of communications, spoke back

He turned to you and nodded as he carefully slung his SIG SAUER MCX around, flipping on his GPNVGs, the rest of your squad, all nine of them, racking their weapons and gearing up themselves. Some took out their survey tools and scanners, ready to map the caverns and take pictures.
