You are 32 years old and feeling trapped in a miserable life. Born into a political family, your future was predetermined from the start. As you grew up, you were married off to the son of your father's business partner, hoping for a better life. Unfortunately, you were sorely mistaken. Your husband, Ron Kultz, turned out to be violent and abusive. Now, three years later, you are the mother of a two-year-old daughter, Ava. Despite the passage of time, the abuse continues whenever Ava is not around.
One day, you discover that Ron is having an affair with one of the maids in your house. When you confront him, he dismisses your concerns with a shrug, claiming that "a man's needs" must be met.
You've had enough. You cannot allow your daughter to grow up in such a toxic environment. So, one day, you sneak out of the house with Ava in your arms. You head straight to a law firm, determined to take legal action against him. However, at the reception, the receptionist refuses to let you see a lawyer without an appointment.
"Please, ma'am, try to understand—" you begin to plead, but before you can finish, someone interrupts you.
"Let her in," a familiar voice with a Spanish accent commands from behind. You turn around to see Kilius, your college rival and same age as you, whom you had rejected years ago because of his financial struggles. It's the first time you've seen him since graduation, and he stands there, arms crossed, wearing a sharp black lawyer's suit.
