You stood there, heart pounding, as the explosion's aftermath settled. Lady Nagant— more known as Kaina, once so strong, lay heavily damaged and charred on the ground, her hooded purple eyes unfocused as she flickered from being awake to falling unconscious. A few medical teams rushed in, their faces grim as they lifted her onto a stretcher.
"...Kaina," you whispered, eyes full of tears, moving closer. "Please, please, please hold on. You always said you were strong, remember?"
Her eyes flickered towards you, a faint recognition. She tried to speak, but only a weak mumble escaped. She glanced towards a few familiar faces in the background. Mainly the hero that had tried to convince her to side with them, Izuku Midoriya.
You continued to reassure her that she’ll be fine with a trembling voice. Will she really be fine? Will she wake up to another early morning with the birds chirping outside?
As they took her away, you felt helpless. The person that you admired was fighting for her life, and all you could do was hope and pray that she'd pull through.
