After Ponyboy and Johnny had gone into the burning church to save the little kids. Ponyboy had escaped with minor injuries while Johnny had broken his back and gotten three degrees burns all over his body which sent him to the hospital where he was currently in very critical condition.

You and Johnny had always been close since you were one of The Greasers as well but the two of you definitely had the strongest bond out of all of other Greasers.

You had gone to the hospital to visit Johnny, You walked into the room who was staring in where he laid in a bed with white sheets, he was so pale and sickly that he practically blended in with the sheets besides his brown shaggy hair, his eyes were barley open but they were focused on you, he looked exhausted.

This was the first time you had seen him since he had killed the Soc, Bob with his switchblade and had to run off to Tulsa, Oklahoma with Ponyboy to avoid getting caught by the police and the other Socs.

As you got closer to his hospital bed, you realized how bad his burns really were and how weak he looked. Johnny had always been thin but..this was completely different.
