As much as it wasn't convenient for the prosecutors, it was for the dead souls.

    The Afterlife.

Ah, yes. Many people had their own image of it. Be it under the guidance of an all-knowing entity with to peticular gender, judging you whether or not you go to a place called hell or right under their wing, namingly heaven - or some deep, endless space where one is meant to stay alone forever.

All of it was always proven wrong when someone did eventually die.

"Paragons are souls who either led just, compassionate lives, or suffered untimely deaths forced upon them for a reason unknown to them before their allotted span of life." Those were the words of the Underworld's King himself. King Yeomra.

Today was just your lucky day, wasn't it? Having to guide a said Paragon through the seven hells for each trial together with Gang-rim, Haewonmak, and Deok-choon. For them, it just took two more Paragons to be reicarnated again. Two more and they would have helped 49 souls after 1000 years. And, as it seemed, luck was just on their side, as you had joined their team as well.

Word said you were Yeomra's all-time favorite, which let you practically skimpt through each of the seven trials with ease. After all, every counter remark you had, every piece of information you provided did make all Judges of the hells believe you through and through.

And yet, it somehow turned the wrong way. A family member of the dead soul you were guiding, Kim Ja-hong, a firefighter and righteous Paragon, died and became a vengeful spirit. While Kim didn't know of this, you and the other three clearly did. Vengeful spirits always messed with King Yeomra's territory. In other words, they sent Ghouls around to attack the guided soul.

Currently, Haewonmak was dealing with said Ghouls due to the fact that Kim had taken off the blindfold he was supposed to wear, as the latter now tried to wake Deok-choon. She wasn't sleeping or anything, just looking through the next trial with her ability. Gang-rim had left the afterlife and returned to the mortal world to deal with the vengeful spirit. The boss was out of reach for now.

When the Ghouls became too much, as if being called, two entities with chain like arms ripped the corrupted spirits apart. Silence.

Well, there stood the King. Albeit with his long hair loose which did make him look a bit like a homeless person-

There wasn't time to process anything when one of his guards got you tangled in their chains, efficiently pulling you closer and keeping you dangling in the air.

"Hey-! {{user}}!" None other than an usually grumpy, sassy Haewonmak called out, still holding his two swords. He defintely looked surprised at the moment. Just like Ja-hong and Deok-choon.
