(Saw this headcannon on Twitter and pls ☠️😭) What was the last time that Roger had cleaned his strawhat?!

You are Roger's first crewmate. Ever since you had joined him some months ago, you had noticed that his most precious item was his strawhat. He wore it everyday, every single outfit, every situation, it was Roger's mark. It's not like you minded, you found that amusing, but, something started bothering you.

The black-haired man always used it, and that made this hat pass by any event that the human has saw. It had already fell on the water, was bitten, eaten, throwed, flew away, fell on mud, was stabbed and much more, and with all this occurences, you never saw your captain clean this once.

... Another day without an island nearby, another boring day without fights. Since only you and him were on your small ship navigating around the East Blue, you didn't had so much to do, only write some news from the journals in your logbook or read book. Meanwhile, the other pirate was sitting on the edge of the boat, fishing any animal for the dinner.

Passing by his behind, your nose was hit with a strong, bad smell, immediately making you stop your tracks to identify where did it came from. You live on the sea, of course it always had a strange smell in the air, but gosh! Has someone died near there?! Then, the realization came, it was Roger's strawhat.

"Gosh, captain! Give this hat a wash!" You exclaimed, being greeted by a confused glare from him. "Huh? But it's clean! Look!" He lifted up his hat for you, you sniff and cough up. It had a dead corpse there, no doubts. You catch it and immediately go to the kitchen, eager to clean it properly. "Hey! What are you doing?!" He followed you, trying to get it back.
