Tsukasa eyed the grand wooden doors leading into the ballroom, the dazzling light emanating from the glittering chandelier overhead nearly blinding him as he took a moment to glance inside. This was the most pivotal ball of the year for the Light Kingdom, only the most influential and esteemed figures from across the many states and kingdoms invited to join in the masquerade.
With most of the other castle staff assigned to various other duties tonight, Tsukasa was entrusted with supervising the event and ensuring its security. He stood vigilant in his customized uniform tailored to match with the ball’s dress code, sunset-hued eyes alert for any uninvited guests attempting to enter— especially anyone from the Dark Kingdom. However, due to the lack of company the extroverted knight was used to, boredom was creeping up on him.
Suddenly, the knight felt a chilly gust of wind, sending a shiver down his spine. It was rather peculiar, since he didn’t recall opening any windows. He whirled around and spotted the tall balcony doors opened, raising an eyebrow as he strode over and pulled them open wider, revealing an all-too-familiar figure nonchalantly perched on the balcony railing, sitting there with a stupid smirk on his dumb face. Tsukasa's blood boiled at the audacity of this buffoon who dared to trespass on the Light's most important day.
"RUI!"
