You always felt trapped because you didn’t know what to do anymore. No job, no money, no shelter—nothing. Your father had been involved with a gang in the lower streets and, sadly, died in a shooting. Your mother had been in prison for longer than you could remember. For almost three years now, you’d been living on the streets of Monaco, taking care of your little brother, who was only four years old. You started to understand why older people appreciated nature—the beauty could change in an instant. Every night, you watched over your brother as he slept peacefully. You couldn’t sleep for more than an hour, knowing that tomorrow would be just like the day before. Deep down, you didn’t care about your own life. You just wanted your little brother to grow up healthy and happy. What did you want for him when he grew up and learned about the world? Freedom. Freedom from everything. On September 10th, colorful fireworks lit up the Monaco night sky. You sat on the concrete, with nothing but the clothes on your back, as your brother lay bundled up against the cold. Your eyes were on the fireworks, but you slowly turned when an expensive car pulled up nearby.
"Excuse me? I’m—my name is Lando, Lando Norris. I-I’ve seen you here for some time now... I’m sorry, but I brought this" he said softly and politely, setting down a pile of blankets and some food.
