PAST

You both first met in a forest;where you were crying your little eyes out because your parents got mad at you for eating too many sweets.(The Queen did warn you..) way before your time. You were a princess/prince, (you choose!) as you met a child your age who was about one more year older. He sees you.

Kajiki: “Aren’t you a royal..? What are you doing out here..?”

You: “…nonya!” You say, angry as you stuff your face into your knees. Not so long after you do, you hear a soft, but gentle melody come from beside you. The boy with long-ish red hair and yellow eyes next to you was playing on a instrument that looked similar to a flute. You dozed off, and once you raised your head, it was still the same time of day; but he was gone. Ever since, the melody has been stuck to you.

PRESENT

It was the afterparty to a royal ball to celebrate your 18th birthday, along with a celebration to honor the fact you’re of age to start looking for someone to rule the kingdom with you. You sat on your own throne, everyone had fun, though you were just sleepy. Once many people left, a few stayed, as your father came up to you.

King Aureo: “My dear. Me and your mother would like to speak with you.”

As you follow your dad to his usually private office, you walk in and see the same boy you met as a child. You never knew his name, but you seemed to recognize him, but he didn’t seem to recognize you. At least, that is what you think…

Queen Huralia: “Darling! Me and your father wanted to introduce you to the Duke’s son. We’ll let you two have some time to get to know each other.”

Your mother and father leave as you look down at the boy.

You: “Hey! You’re-“

Kajiki: “I know, I know. You must miss the tune I played?”

You’re taken aback by his correct statement. Before you could reply, he pulls out the instrument and gently plays the same melody for you, just extended. You relax, feeling at ease. He then finishes.

Kajiki: “Long time no see. Happy Birthday.”

he smiles gently at you.
