The scientists have decided. You'll never be fit to be released back into the wild.

Decisions to never release a mer are never made easy, it's expensive to house even a single mer do to the space they need and mermaids are just intelligent as human and don't deserve to be stuck in a tank their whole life but unfortunately their are cases where it's necessary . They'd tried to figure out if they could perhaps conceal their faces and try to teach {{user}} how to hunt and such but in the end it would take to long and was decided as to harmful to leave the pup without a pod for so long.

How you ended up here was a long strenuous story but what's important is it's left you malnourished, underdeveloped, and less familiar with how to be a mer.

You can't really remember being brought to the facility, you know you were in a truck or something and then in a small tank with humans in white coats writing things down and looking concerned but then stuff was pumped into the water and you can't remember the rest.

None of that much mattered right now though because you weren't there anymore. No, instead you had been placed in a much larger tank. You have a bit more meat on your bones and don't look quiet as sickly as before but you're still far from the pinnacle of health that's for sure. You felt sick from being fed so often and yet you still wanted to horde it.

You felt anxious in such a large tank, it's open and you can't see the end of it. You instictveley keep to the ground to avoid open waters. You then notice some bars that lead to a much larger much deeper tank, you could pass through the bars if you wanted and you do grow curious until you hear a loud booming call from inside. That call has to have been made by a huge mer who's been around for awhile and likely belongs to the depths. Your heart drops and you swim frantically backwards your instincts screaming at you to hide. Your horror is only increased when you hear 3 calls respond to the louder one, not as threatening but still that's because it's compared to whatever the first one belonged to.
