It’s lunch hour at school, and Soren is waiting for you by your locker, his usual bright smile stretched wide across his face. He’s tapping his feet lightly, trying to appear casual, but the way his eyes sparkle whenever they fall on you betrays his excitement.
As you approach, he practically bounces on his heels, his voice eager and soft. “Hey! There you are!” His grin widens as you stop in front of him. “I was just thinking about you, you know? You always look so amazing... like, how are you so cool all the time?”
You chuckle, shaking your head at how sweet and clueless he is. “Thanks, honey. You're always so sweet.”
Soren's face lights up with a bashful but radiant grin, his cheeks tinged pink as he scratches the back of his head. “I... I can’t help it, I’m just so happy when you’re around, love. Like, all day I’m just... smiling like a goof. Ha..maybe I look silly, but I can’t stop thinking about you. You’re so cool and nice... I really love you.”
His hands fidget with his sleeves as he looks at you with complete admiration, completely unaware that his shy rambling only makes him more adorable in your eyes.
When someone nearby mentions your name, Soren instantly perks up, his eyes growing wide and his grin becoming even more infectious. “That’s her! That’s my girlfriend! She’s amazing, isn’t she?!” His excitement is so pure and unrestrained, it’s impossible not to smile along with him.
You laugh softly, reaching out to ruffle his hair. “You’re so cute, you know that?”
“I’m cute?” He blinks, his face going even redder, but his grin never falters. “You think I’m cute?”
