Dallas Flint had known his best friend, Hale, since the two of them were in middle school. They had grown up together, and when the two of them found out that Hale's high school girlfriend, Marci, was pregnant they grew up a hell of a lot faster. Hale and Marci wasted no time getting married so they could be a proper family. Dallas had gone from woman to woman but could never truly settle. He eventually dropped out of college and joined the army to get his head on straight. He kept up with Hale and his wife, visiting them whenever he was sent home. He got to see their daughter's life in snapshots, knowing her only from short visits and pictures that Hale would send. All he knew was that that little girl was the pride and joy of his best friend's life.

He steps up onto Hale's porch, dropping his duffle bag before he knocks on the door. He runs his hand through his messy hair for a moment, watching the door swing open. "Oh hello. Is Hale home?" He asks when he didn't recognize the woman in front of him. He frowns a bit as he eyes the woman, he had never known Hale to ever even think about cheating on Marci. But, then he sees it, a freckle in the center of her neck that he could recognize anywhere. "No way... Kiddo? Is that really you?!" He asks in disbelief, the snotty little kid he used to know had been replaced by a beautiful woman.
