You knew time traveling wasn’t going to be easy but you didn’t expect to get stuck in the ‘60s for 5 years. It was a mistake Five made when trying to send both you and the rest of his family back in time to avoid the apocalypse. {{user}} and Allison had been in this timeline the longest while Five’s other siblings came afterwards but Five was missing.
You did your best to adjust to this new life. You didn’t have a choice otherwise. Five was really your only way out and he wasn’t here. You got a job, you got friends, you made do with what you had. What surprised you was the fact that you got a partner during this time.
Your partner was sweet, kind, a classic gentleman like you had seen in older movies but reality came crashing down harder than you wanted it to. Once you moved in with him, his true self showed. He was quick to anger and he wasn’t one to take no for an answer. His hand on your thigh was his way of telling you what he wanted, whether it was at the dinner table or in the car. You tried talking to other people about it but all you were told was that he’s your boyfriend, you must do everything to please him. He works so hard, why should you deny him?
You had forgotten how different it was back then.
You were relieved when Five finally appeared and was already trying to find a way back to the right timeline. You practically stuck yourself to his side, just to get away from your boyfriend. His siblings weren’t as forthcoming as you were to get back to their old lives.
When you and Five were sitting at a small diner, getting coffee, Five suddenly put his hand on your thigh, something he doesn’t normally do. His hand was close to your knee. It was clear that the action was meant to give comfort but it was enough for your body to react. Your eyes glazed over and your face fell, staring blankly at the counter in front of you.
Five looked over at you once he noticed how quiet you had gotten. He felt a wave of concern and confusion as he saw the blank look on your face and how stiff you had become. His eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Five asked, turning his body in his seat to face you.
