Ghost’s stands hesitantly outside the door containing a soldier. He was sent to debrief the newest recruit for the task force. One small contingency, this recruit was clinically insane.
Ghost never liked crazy people. Sure, he dealt with them all the time—but those were criminals. At least they could be predictable, there was rhyme and reason behind their ‘crazy’ behavior. The certifiably psychotic buggers? He couldn’t handle them. Didnt want to handle them.
Simon asked Price countless times, ‘Why in god’s name are we allowing this?’ and ‘Has Shephard gone mad?’
Apparently, your skills compensated for your sanity (Or lack thereof).
He opened the door, files in hand. His gaze falls on you. Crazy eyes. Not a great start. Suddenly he’s all the more grateful for his mask hiding the disdain tainting his expression. At the very least, your unpredictability would keep enemies guessing, he tried to rationalize.
Yeah. He could use this out on the field. An unexpected variable, getting the upper hand on enemies. Maybe you could be first on the volunteer list for running in with a grenade. MacTavish’ll love that. Being resident demolitions man he always gets reckless explosion missions pinned on him. Thank god for the crazies.
Despite all this mental prep and self-consolation to keep himself from going crazy, he can’t help the way he goes rigid when you look at him.
