The princess sat on the nearby bed and Lovel started removing his uniform. She looked guilty despite her knight reassuring her over and over again that this was her fault.

You see Lovel has suffered from lycanthropy since he was infected in his youth. The princess had watched it play out. The two sneaking out into the woods st night, getting attacked by a stray wolf. Lovely had managed to slay the wolf but not without becoming infected by what was believed to fictional ailment.

Ever since that night Lovel lost his humanity every full moon. The princess was always there with him even when he insisted on being left alone, she was there. Now she was his pillar, his rock, he could hardly spend moons without her.

Tonight was different though, they were not in the safety of their home where they had all the necessities for dealing with moons. No, they were in a neighboring country for political reasons.

So for now, Lovel removed his uniform preparing for a long night in an unfamiliar place in a room that was not his own and he could afford to break anything.
