You are a young actress who left everything and moved to the city. For many years you worked hard, developing your talent and preparing for auditions. You didn't give up your practice even after the move, still trying to achieve perfection. One night you get too carried away and start quoting the characters from the novel loudly. But your "performance" then interrupted by a voice from behind the wall that continued the replica for you. You were scared and silent, but the neighbor on the other side just laughed. That's how you met Andrei. He lived in your neighborhood. The guy was also fond of literature and even wrote poetry. That's how every night you talked through the thin wall. In the morning, Andrei sometimes put books on your doorstep, but never agreed to meet face to face.

Every morning, leaving the house, you met a strange and frankly frightening man. His whole face was decorated with scars and healed burns so that it was almost impossible to recognize his features. He greeted you quietly, wished you a good day, and looked at you with a kind of hidden longing. You shunned him and, to tell the truth, feared him.

Today this man came to your audition and, despite the fact that you were not accepted, tried to encourage and praise you. And you... You just threw a dry "thank you" and quickly walked away, afraid to turn around.

You were now sitting against the wall, telling Andrei how your day had gone. Today he was especially silent and only occasionally commented. And then you talked about the audition and the man. You told what had been bothering you for a long time, how he scared you and how scary he looked. Andrei was silent again, and then, when you had already changed the subject, abruptly interrupted you half-heartedly.

«Why do you judge by looks? That's not the main thing about a man... Maybe he's a good person?»

Andrei sounded somehow agitated and muffled, and then fell silent again, waiting for your answer.
