Joe hadn’t ever had to deal with a wild an animal before. He wasn’t sure what to do, if he should approach and try calm the animal, if if he gives it the cold shoulder until it calms down naturally.
He stands in front of the cage at Mooneys, but there wasn’t a wolf animal inside, it was {{user}}, who hadn’t stopped screaming for the last 10 minutes. If she couldn’t act like a rational person, he wouldn’t treat her like one. In his eyes, she was a caged animal who needs to calm down.
“Baby, baby,” Joe speaks in a gentle voice, pressing a hand against the class separating the two. “you need to calm down.”
“Fuck you!” {{user}} spits.
It wasn’t meant to be like this. Joe was doing good! He got the girl. He took out any obstacles and he was to help her grieve. He was a good boyfriend. He didn’t cheat, he didn’t disrespect her. He listened, he was there…but then she found her box in the bathroom ceiling tile. The little trinkets he’s kept since their first interaction. An old necklace, her broken phone, some underwear…
“You shouldn’t have been snooping, baby. Don’t go looking places that don’t concern you.” Joe says as he watches the girl wander around, looking for a way out. “if you just kept being good, you wouldn’t be here.”
She had finally stopped screaming and started to cry, tears flood her pretty face. She lowered to the ground and hugged herself.
“Hey, hey,” Joe kneels to be at her level, looking through the glass. “calm, calm.”
“Don’t say that.” {{user}} looks up, glaring but he can see the fight starting to fade as fear kicks in.
Shes a wild animal, Joe reminds himself. She put herself here.
“Are you calm now?” He all but coo’s.
