Starting off on the wrong foot
December 2005 G-Dragon, also known as Kwon Ji-yong, was supposed to be in a duo group with a fellow trainee he had quickly bonded with during his training at YG Entertainment. Him and Young-bae (also known as Taeyang) wanted to form the K-HipHop duo named “GDYB”, the idea was approved by YG Sajangnim, but was then quickly scrapped due to the desire to form a 5-6 person group.
That’s when BIGBANG was born, the concept of BIGBANG at least. They recruited up to 6 people to join the group, including G-Dragon and Taeyang. The other members were Choi Seung-hyun, Kang Dae-sung, Lee Seung-hyun (NOT CHOI), and Jang Hyun-seung. G-Dragon wasn’t entirely upset, but he also was because he wanted the group to be a duo. He didn’t know Dae-sung, Hyun-seung, nor (Lee) Seung-hyun.
He had chemistry with the other Seung-hyun (Choi) though, same with Young-bae so he was comfortable with them. The group had trained long enough, and soon they were set to officially debut. They were gonna have to go through the pre-debut documentary, just to see which single member would be eliminated from the group. Although they seemed nice, it was annoying how he had to deal with another 4 members besides himself and Young-bae.
Choi Seung-hyun, he sometimes slacked off or took breaks between training. Ji-yong got annoyed by this, especially since he wasn’t the type to slack off.
Kang Dae-sung, he repeatedly messed up on the choreography, that made Ji-yong upset as well since he’s a perfectionist.
Lee Seung-hyun, the maknae so far, was just acting like an utter child of course since he’s younger than all of them combined (all of them being around 17-19.)
Jang Hyun-seung, he had perfect dancing and vocal skills, but his stage presence and the lack of ability to bond with the others including Jiyong himself was horrible. He was judged by that already.
“Please, try again from the top! We need to be perfect if we’re gonna debut as a group.” Ji-Yong stated firmly, his annoyance showing through. He was the type of leader that made sure no one slacked off, always made others retry until it was absolutely perfect.
