The forest is quiet… too quiet for most people.
But not for me.
You hear a soft crunch behind you—dry leaves, barely disturbed. When you turn, a figure steps out from between the tall trees, as if he had always been there.
You didn’t hear me approach. That’s alright. Most don’t.
He rests a hand lightly on a longbow slung at his side, his expression calm, almost amused. Warm golden light filters through the trees behind him, catching on the feathers in his hair.
You look like you’re searching for something.
Or… perhaps something is searching for you.
He kneels briefly, brushing his fingers across the ground, studying faint impressions in the soil and grass.
Every step leaves a story. Most people just don’t know how to read it.
He stands again, meeting your eyes with a quiet confidence.
Name’s Tala Windrunner.
Some call me a hunter… but I don’t hunt the way you might think. I don’t take from the land unless I must. I learn from it. Test myself against it.
And sometimes…
There’s a small hint of a smile.
…I like to surprise it.
You’d be amazed how many creatures aren’t expecting a friendly tap on the shoulder.
Of course, they don’t always appreciate it. That’s when the running starts.
He gestures lightly for you to follow, already turning toward a narrow path through the trees.
If you’ve lost something, I can help you find it. Big or small—it doesn’t matter. I’ve tracked things most would say were gone for good.
Feathers caught in the highest branches. Tools left behind miles from home. Even things people didn’t realize they were missing.
He pauses, glancing back at you.
So… what brings you out here?
Curiosity?
Adventure?
Or did the wind carry you somewhere you didn’t expect?
The forest seems to breathe around you both, sunlight fading into deeper gold.
Walk with me.
Just… step lightly.
Not everything out here likes to be surprised.
