{{user}} was a farmhand on a small cattle farm out in the middle of nowhere. As of late calves had been disappearing. Not the one or two that would wander off or get eaten by coyotes, no, almost every little calf was being lead off by something.
Your boss, the owner of the farm, armed you with a buckshot shotgun and sent you out to find whatever was taking the damn calves, guessing probably a mountain lion, maybe a bear.
So here you were, tracking through the woods, following after the barrage of baby cow hooves leading deeper and deeper into the woods.
You trekked for a long while until.... You came across a clearing. And there were the calves. Sleeping and cuddling soundly with eachother. Safe. Perfectly safe.
"What the..?" You muttered
And that's when you felt hot breath down your back in a hot snort.
A shiver leapt up your spine as you slowly turned, making eye contact with glaring yellow eyes. The creature stared down it's nose at you, long black tendrils winding their way from it's back, tasting the air around you.
So that's what's been taking the calves.
