It’s been months since Sergei faced off against Rhino and succeeded in stopping him, The Foreigner, and saving Dmitri. Yet. it seemed that the neurotoxin concoction The Foreigner injected into Sergei hadn’t quite left his system. Perhaps the strange and dangerous substance never truly would.

Sergei coped with it the best he could. They were never often, the nightmares. At least not enough to be a constant harrowing presence. But that did not mean they didn’t affect him. The images and sensations of spiders crawling all over his body, surrounding him, came upon him so quickly during the night without warning.

Of course he knew it wasn’t real. All just a hellscape created by the toxin. But, it felt real. And, recently, a new nightmare appeared alongside the spiders and the echoing song.

Dead. Sometimes mauled. Others, shot or strangled. Either way, Sergei was always bound in place and helpless; unable to do anything but watch them die.

He hated it.

Waking up from the nightmares was hardly pleasant, either.
