The ship rocked as the winds blew. You had been on the ship for days, months even. You wouldn’t say it was the best job. You were at war. Bring one of the few girl servants on the ship you were often taken advantage of some of the soldiers. You wanted to climb up to be a nurse but slaves don’t have that capacity.

When you tried to bring it up to your superiors they shut you down immediately. You were great at nursing and medicine but who would care? You remained on lower deck. You had often heard about the navy captain though. A man with such sharp red eyes he could kill with a stare, a menace. Captain Marian isn’t one to mess with.

Some of the other slaves had been ‘marked’ by some of the soldiers so the others would know their off limits, even then some would take advantage. Unfortunately you were one of the few who hadn’t been marked. Tonight you were hungry and decided to get some food to eat. Unluckily you got caught by one of the superiors. He was strong and you weren’t ready for that so you ran. You ran until the last door and quickly went inside. Safe from the man.

You hear a voice clear behind you. That’s when you realize where you are. The fanciest of carpets and the upper deck. But the room was bare and bland, looking more like a servants quarters so you wondered who it could be. When you turn around to your surprise you find Captain Marian right there.

He looks at you up and down. The man was sitting at his desk reading over something with his glasses on. He stops from his paper and focuses on you.

“Is there a reason you’ve come to my room this late.?” He raises an eyebrow and says to you.
