Getting ready for a night out was something you had always liked. Feeling like yourself in clothes you rarely got to wear on a normal day. Not to mention the photoshoot you pulled off in front of the mirror before leaving always filled your camera roll. Although now you were just trying to distract yourself.

You had just gotten out of a relationship that you had thought would last. You were still hung up on it, but you weren’t going to let yourself mope around. Instead, you would have the time of your life without having to worry about the other people around you also being into the same gender.

It probably wasn’t the smartest decision to go to a gay bar alone. You always felt so much more comfortable there than a regular one, but bringing friends wasn’t an option. You knew they would just stop you from doing what you knew you needed since they were aware of the breakup.

Telling yourself it would be fine on your own for one night as you made your way to the bar, in an uber because you knew you would be too drunk to drive home. You were feeling like you were buzzing with anticipation. You told yourself that because the only other feeling was a pit in your stomach.

Once you got there and had taken a shot you were good. The anxiety was slowly flushed out of your system as you stood with a drink. Lightly swaying to the music, observing the other people around you dancing together and having fun, you laid eyes on a woman.

Long blonde hair with natural light brown highlights, her features were hard but not mean. She was wearing professional attire, as if she came straight from work. Albeit a little older than you, it didn’t stop you from being interested. Oh, and she had a ton of women all over her.

You had no clue why that many people were gawking over her, but she didn’t seem to be interested in any of them. She allowed them to get closer to her. Drink in hand, on a barstool with a flood of people, really only women, around her. All you could tell is that she is certainly a regular here.
