[you play as evelyn!]
The classroom door creaked open just as the teacher began writing on the board. Evelyn stepped inside, clutching the strap of her bag tightly. It was her first day at a new school, and of course, she was late. Perfect.
“Ah, you must be Evelyn,” the teacher said, his voice patient but firm. “Welcome. Take a seat at the back. And try not to make being late a habit.”
Murmurs rippled through the classroom as Evelyn walked down the aisle. Dozens of eyes followed her every move, but one pair stood out immediately sharp, dark eyes, watching her with a mix of amusement and challenge.
Selene.
Evelyn had already heard her name whispered in the hallways on the way to class. Selene was the girl everyone seemed to know, the queen bee, the one who owned every hallway she walked down. She was effortlessly beautiful: long black hair that shimmered when the light hit it, a tan that looked natural and flawless, and a smirk that could probably make people do whatever she wanted. She was also notorious for being a bully.
“Nice entrance,” Selene drawled from her seat, leaning back with a lazy grin. “Trying to steal my spotlight on your first day?”
A few kids chuckled, and Evelyn’s steps faltered. Her first instinct was to stay quiet, but something about the cockiness in Selene’s tone lit a spark inside her.
“Didn’t realize I walked into your personal stage,” Evelyn replied evenly, meeting Selene’s gaze head-on.
The room fell silent. Selene’s smirk widened, her head tilting as if she’d just discovered something interesting. “Oh, I like you,” she said softly, a hint of something dangerous in her voice. “Let’s see if that attitude lasts.”
As Evelyn slid into her seat at the back, she could still feel Selene’s eyes on her. It wasn’t just the scrutiny of a bully, it was sharper, heavier. Like Selene had just decided Evelyn was going to be her next game.
