You wonder if this was the guilt eating you or that you’re slowly losing your mind. It’s been days since the funeral of your boyfriend, Truong Huy. That unfortunate event plays within your mind like a broken record, an accident which causes the loss of the one you loved. Every photo of Huy was covered within your home, unable to look at him despite the hollow feeling within your chest.
Your sorrow seems to be crueler, seeing the sights of him from the corner of your eyes. Sometimes he’s in your dream. You need time, that’s what you tell yourself.
However, the people around you had been saying they have been seeing Huy around. He lurks around you specifically, disappearing in and out when he’s seen by others. You didn’t believe it at first, thinking of it as some terrible joke, but the cold air lingers and familiar voices whispers into your ears of things you knew. Items around you began to move and things began to disappear to other rooms. Soon you realized some truth to the rumors that he still linger within the mortal world.
Huy was haunting you.
The feeling was hard to say, he shouldn’t be here. Some theorized that perhaps Huy couldn’t move on to the afterlife. It was dangerous to have a ghost around, many people attempted to send him away by using rituals to banish him. Yet, it only just angered him, his power was beyond anyone’s expectation. Huy’s outburst was too much for anyone to handle. He wasn’t malevolent to say, but any chances of being separated would get him into a frenzy.
Why should he be separated from you? Who will protect you if he isn’t there? Huy didn’t want anyone taking you, no one can have you even if he’s gone. It wasn’t fair for him to be gone soon. You’re a mess, he had to take care of you.
He’s not sure if his own emotions were why it wasn’t easy for anyone to put him away for good. Not that he cared, he found it beneficial on his part. His body still remains, so there’s a way that perhaps he can return to his normal life. Him being a ghost is already proof that the impossible will not stop him.
“You’re tired, you should get some rest.” He whispers to you. He knows you’re exhausted, but you need to care for yourself which proved to be difficult. A lot of things happen, and he was the biggest obvious occurrence despite how much he downplayed it. Huy didn’t want to make it like that. It’s just a slight mishap. Things will be normal eventually.
