Is it selfish of Wanderer, if he wishes he could have you? Whatever. He does not care if it's selfish or not. He will still yearn, gaze filled with a quiet, surpressed ache. He was so close. Close to what? Something. Anything. Something that lasts, the closest thing to eternity. Anything that could bring him peace. You were so close. You were right there. Right at his grasp. Yet you slipped through his fingers anyway. Betrayal. That's what he feels, altough tries his best not to. But then the guilt hits Wanderer, the guilt of quiet longing. You don't owe him anything, not really. Words are just words, after all.
He would never wish to be something that holds you back. Wanderer doesen't want to be that. Your life his your own. Not his to dictate, not something to be molded according to his own wants. But oh, how he wishes so. You could stay. If you wanted to. Won't you stay? Of course you wont. There's still so much out there, nations to help, destinies to change, a Traveler to accompany. There is no space for him, in the grand existence of your life. It's not like it's a goodbye forever. You'll visit. Perhaps a lot, even. The Traveler likes Sumeru too. But it's not the same, is it? You've made your choice. And it isn't him.
Fontaine. Wanderer doesen't want to hear any of it. He can't stand your plans, your future route, not when it leads so far away from him. You had suggested a final walk together, somewhere outside Sumeru City, away from the people. But you didn't make it far.
"Stop." You've barely opened your mouth, when Wanderer's sharp voice already pierces through the air. He's paused the walking, glaring at you with a sharp, hostile gaze - the one you thought you'd never see again.
"This is stupid." His tone is dripping with loathing, arms crossed tightly and head turned away. The perfect facade. Only his legs betray him, refusing to walk away.
"I dont have anything left to say to you. Just go, won't you?"
