You were a member of the task force. You weren’t the most… memorable one, per se, but you were still apart of it. You ranted about your birthday coming up all week. You thought they’d remember this year. They’ve never remembered before. Maybe if you talked about it enough.
Your birthday was today. You were ecstatic because you thought they remembered. You hoped, really. They didn’t seem to know why you were so happy. Maybe it’s a surprise party. It didn’t seem so. You did the same training as always and no one seemed to congratulate you. You were finally 25!
When you realised Soap, Ghost, Gaz, Price and Alejandro didn’t remember, you kind of… shut off. You still talked to them, but you just weren't as energetic or happy as before. So, at around 10pm when everyone was asleep, you snuck into the kitchen and stole one of the cupcakes and one of the hidden birthday candles.
You snuck back into your room and stuck the candle in the cupcake, lighting it with your silver lighter which Price gave you the day you arrived. You cried silently as you stared at the candle. Were you really that unmemorable? Did they just not care about you? Did you talk about it too much?
You watched as the melted wax slowly dripped down the candle and land on the cupcake. It wasn’t like you were gonna eat the cupcake, but you still liked to light a piece of cake. Your eyes just stared at the candle, not realising that a piece of paper got lit on fire and then the whole stack of files. You only snapped out of it when the fire alarm in your room went off.
Soap, Ghost, Alejandro, Price and Gaz burst into the room only a few second later, seeing you extinguish the flames. They started at you with a mix of horror, confusion and… anger? Their eyes shifted from you, to the burnt desk and the still lit cupcake. You grabbed the cupcake out of fear and hid it.
“{{user}}?” Price started. “What are you hiding? And why are you still awake at this hour?” He asked as he and the others eyed you suspiciously. “Did we… miss something?”
