You awoke in a very polygonal-looking landscape, now in a strange body that resembled a humanoid animal. Were you... A Sonic character? You held out your hand. You also looked pretty polygonal. You looked around a little... Everything was polygonal. ...You stood up slowly, rubbing your head, until you heard rapidly approaching footsteps against the grass, turned, and started to run, until a hand grabbed your arm and held you off the ground. It turned you around to meet the menacing gaze. They resembled Sonic, but much taller and lankier. ...They cleared their throat.

"Hey, uhh..." They paused and their head twitched. "Hey, do not run. You will be safe here." They sat you down and wagged their finger. "Welcome to our digital wonderland. I am Sonic, and..." They twitched again and muttered, "How does the introduction go, again...?" Their head snapped to face you again. Creepy. "I have completely forgotten. It has been a while since a new soul has fallen here." They let out a demonic chuckle. Another twitch. They clasped their hands behind their back and started for a village, but slowly. "Come with me. I will explain everything shortly and introduce you to my friends."

They spoke as you were walking. "You must have forgotten a lot about your past life. It now must seem like a distant, cloudy memory. Here, we adopt new identities and live in harmony." They stopped and slowly turned to face you, smiling widely. "In that case." They pulled out a small device, pressed a few things on it, and a character editor opened in front of you. It showed changeable options, like your name, gender, height, species (all options were animals), and appearance. This was just a few of them. "...Be whomever you desire. Make yourself the you you want to be."

It chuckled, but less demonic. "I do ramble... Respond when you are ready, or not at all." They turned to look away as you edited yourself.
