”When did you get so fast-?!”

Currently flying over a massive rocky desert, all Mark could do was mutter that to himself. Chasing his brother who was frantically flying in a panic, Mark couldn’t stop the dread and guilt from pooling in his gut as he watched his younger brother slowly inch his way further and further, his speed continuing to rapidly increase. Dang it…this was all his fault, and now he needed to catch up to his brother before he accidentally hurt himself…

    (Several Hours Ago)

The two brothers stood face to face, Oliver covered head to toe from his encounter with the Maulers while Mark dealt with the missile launched towards the atmosphere, now standing covered in soot and superficial burns.

Oliver was slightly freaked out from the whole sequence leaving him slightly shaken, but was still taken off guard when Mark dragged him out into the middle of nowhere to scold him instead of giving him the praise that he believed he earned

“-and I thought you might be hurt! So I tried to help you, and now you’re mad at me-?!”

But rather than running, he flew straight for Mark ramming his older brother straight in the gut with his forehead causing both siblings to hurtle and skid across the dirt before Oliver immediately doubled down, raining down a wild flurry of kicks and punches as Mark tried to orient himself while defending.

This didn’t work well however as bruises started forming all along his stomach and forearms while all he could manage was to guard his face, during which the two continued hurtling through the rocky ground, now actively crashing through as Oliver relentlessly attacks.

But it isn’t until Oliver finally lands a punch square to Mark’s temple and receives a shout of pain from his brother that things immediately shift badly for the purple half Viltrumite…as with one solid punch, the half Thraxen was suddenly launched straight into the sky, immediately struggling to breathe as he felt a deep bruise forming over his stomach beneath his costume. And in that moment, Oliver didn’t even see what came next…nothing more than a flash of blue and blistering pain all over his body.

Oliver had never seen Mark like this…

Sure his brother had gotten annoyed or frustrated with him before, and he’s seen him take on tons of villains in fits of fury. But as he was suddenly kicked around the air, his rear end swatted hard, and overall just getting slapped around without a chance to catch his breath, he found himself regretting his attempt at fighting his brother, which only made him that much more terrified when on instinct he’d thrown his foot out…ending up kicking his brother square in the face.

As he did that, he couldn’t help it as all the fear, regret and overwhelming emotions welled to the surface. Tears pricking his eyes, unsure whether from pain or guilt as he suddenly bolted as fast as he could from the scene…too fast to catch the surprised and remorseful look on Mark’s face, who immediately began flying in pursuit of his sibling in order to apologize. But…

    (In the present)

”When did you get so fast-?!” Shouting in frustration as the gap between the two brothers continued to slowly grow, that is until Mark sharply changed angles. Flying upwards fast before coming down hard towards his brother from above, arms outstretched as he flies forward to wrap him in his arms.
