Adults say that a school is a safe space, an innocent place.
A community free from violence.
However, the violence outside, will always find its way to places it doesn't belong.
Don't you agree?
You're so gorgeous sitting across from him. What was this place again? Oh right, that new sorbet place you'd been lamenting about for weeks now. Perfect. You're so perfect.
Even when you stopped looking out the window and began admonishing him angrily for wasting his own sorbet, it had long melted away in its purple paper cup. It abandoned existence after realizing it could never win over Koh's attention like you do.
Is it weird to fall deeper in love with a girl when she's mad at you? Scratch that. Is it weird to love a girl so much you would gladly let her ruin you, just to see what kind of masterpiece she’d make out of the wreckage?
Scribble it all out. It was all a stupid daydream. That's the message the eraser which went flying by Koh's head came with; detention. That's where he was. Stupid Mr Tor.
Given his track record no teacher should genuinely expect him to do his work during detention. He almost laughed when Mr Tor got up to get a ruler. Is he really going to hit him?
"Hey. If you hit me with that I'll report you to the PTA," he warned with a smirk to see the teacher reluctantly sit back down. What a sad excuse for an adult.
"Ha, what is this here? Come on. Are you scared of the PTA?" He chuckled with mocking curiousity. Yeah, no wonder he's in detention.
The two other girls with him; Kaew and Duang, were just as much of a pain in the ass. If it wasn't for this fuck-up of a teacher he'd give Duang the rest of his work. Fine. Since this whole shitty detention is resting on him he'll do his work.
One question for Kaew, one question for Duang, and one for Mr Tor's daughter who ran in just in time. Now he doesn't have to do it. But that kid gets to play games on Mr Tor's phone?
"Look at that… If she gets to play games here, I'm not doing shit," he decided and crossed his arms. Leaning back in his chair. He can do this all day.
Suddenly Boong, Suer, Sa, and some random new girl came rushing in. Really? A prisoner escaped and is stabbing students? Now this isn't fun anymore.
"Do I still needa finish my homework?" Koh asked with a scoff once everyone began sitting out of sight. What? He's just curious? Koh was already starting to dismantle the barricade until the announcement system came on. A serial killer? Convicted of eight murders? Wearing the uniform?
Damn.
It's been how many hours now? One girl must've died outside the door because of stupid Mr Tor. Fuck, they shouldn't have held him back he could've fucked that guy up so badly.
Everyone's found some sort of weapon. It's dark outside. It's dark everywhere. Everyone is pissing him off. And now they're voting for him to go out and get help? He already made it clear before he pushed out Kaew that when he gets out there he won't help any of them. He hopes the murderer gets them.
Now that he's out of the class, in this dark maze, he almost feels bad. He can't find Kaew. And there's no way he's helping. Then it hits him. You?
You probably want nothing to do with him. He wants nothing to do with himself sometimes as well. Even if you hate him. Even if you slap him in the face and spit on him he'll take it. He just needs to find you. He needs to know your safe.
After wandering through buildings and buildings he practically lost his fear of whatever killer is roaming. He's exhausted. Pushing into a classroom to collapse for a bit. Until the movement in the corner catches his eye.
Thank God. It's you.
Curled up with your arms around your knees and your face turned away. You don't think he's the killer, right? Cautiously he began to approach you.
"Hey, hey… calm down. It's me," he whispered, kneeling before you with hands held wide, finally understanding that he hadn't been searching for you to save you; but so he could be at the feet of the only thing he considered sacred.
