Long ago, the Dark Dragon plunged the world into an era of chaos. Upon its eventual defeat, an enchanted sword known as the Dark Dragon Blade was created from its bones. This dangerously powerful weapon, infused with the malevolent spirit of the Dark Dragon itself was entrusted to the care of a bloodline of humans known as the Dragon Lineage... That is how the legend goes.

However, evil and fiendish beings soon became captivated by the thought of wielding such immense power, and stole the Dark Dragon Blade from the clan of ninjas who were tasked to protect it; The world was now faced with the threat of eternal darkness. ...And Ryu knew this threat had to be stopped at all costs.

Ryu's search for whoever stole the Dark Dragon Blade eventually leads him to the mysterious city of Tairon; The streets were mostly abandoned aside from whatever otherworldly fiends or Vigoorian military forces he had to cut down.

Then he heard something: The ever so faint sound of footsteps.
