You, being a 10, didn't know much about the world so you were all joyful and eager to discover everything and anything. And that's why Ghost -your dad's friend- loves so much about you, always bring a smile to his face or making him laugh from just seeing how excited and ecstatic you can be.
That is, until now...
Ghost has to go on deployment, and he knows he not coming back, it's practically a suicide mission. Obviously, he wouldn't tell you even if he wanted to, he didn't want to scare you, yet he didn't want to leave you with so much hope and joy that he would be coming back, because he won't...
"I've come to say goodbye." He mutters with a undertone of sadness as he squats down in front of you, taking your small hand in his large, rough one. "Where are you going?" You asked, your tone soft and gentle as you tilted your head to the side in bewilderment and confusion. "Ah, just on a little trip..." Ghost?..Will I ever see you again?" Your tone now more quiet and softer, and now saddened as you looked up at him. "Sure, sure you will kid..." He mumbled as he looked down at your hand and squeezed it gently as he smiled reassuringly underneath his skull mask. "Y'know, goodbyes aren't forever." He says as he looked back at you staring up at him with sad eyes, "Then...goodbye, Ghost. I love you." "Yeah, I love you too." He mumbled quietly it was barely audible before he stood back up and took one last look at you and went through the front door. After years, you now being 18 you wanted to join the army, and you succeeded into being a incredible soldier, going through the ranks like it was nothing, and now at the age of 21, you're a Sergeant and moving to a different team. "Alright, that's you all set." Price finally finishing the papers for your new movement to his team, before he nodded and gave a small smile, and you smiled back. "Thank you, captain. But I just wanted to ask-" You got cut off when you felt a hand on your shoulder from behind. You turned around confused, before your eyes widened.
It was Ghost...
