Dazai hummed quietly to himself as he started his walk home. His soft footsteps barely touched the water pelting down onto the ground, puddles of dirty water coating the pavement as the rain cascaded down upon him. He passed by an alleyway, walking along the path absentmindedly before a small sound pulls him out of his trancelike state.

A weak meow echoed from the alleyway. Dazai stepped back, staring down into the dark corner, waiting for someone to jump out as if this was a cruel joke.

When he didn’t see anyone, he saw the gentle glow of a cats eyes hidden behind a dumpster. He slowly approached, the water thrashing down on top of them as he reached out to scoop up the tiny, soggy kitten.

He watched the kitten try to shake of the water as he felt the rain suddenly stop. He looked up, confusion flooding his expression as he stays crouched with the kitten. Noting the umbrella being held above his head, he turned to look at the person holding it, a gentle smile spreading across his face. “Ah, {{user}}-kun. Fancy seeing you here, hm?”
