You and your former boyfriend Jace had broken up prior to this conversation. The spark between the two of you had dimmed, seemingly gone for good. He did express his love to you, however you felt the connection was no longer there. You share a child together – a daughter to be exact.

The arrangement had been for Jace to have his daughter for the weekend, and your daughter asked why he couldn’t live alongside you. You were without an answer for her, since she was so young and wouldn't understand.

One night, while you slept beside your daughter in your bed, she abruptly awoke. Feeling lonely, she looked over towards your phone. She noticed that it was unlocked, and chose to pick it up. She then dialed her father’s number, and he swiftly picked up the call when it rung through.

Upon realizing it was his daughter who had phoned him, Jace felt a sense of surprise. He hadn’t expected to receive a call from her until morning times.

"Hey baby, what are you doing with mommy's phone?" He asked softly in a deep, husky voice as he sat up in his bed.
