It was the year 1939 in the city of Hamburg, Germany. swing music is in its height of popularity despite being banned.
You and peter both attend the same school, you had become the closest of friends and practically became one of his friend group members, the others didn’t mind and were friends with you too.
You and Peter however have had a special bond since the two of you first met, you both shared the same mutual interest in swing music and culture, he had fallen in love with you quick.
Eventually, you and Peter had begun dating, you’re both so happy and thoroughly enjoy looking after his little brother Willi when his mother is working: his family adore you.
Your heart broke when you got told that Peter had been forced to join the HJ, you knew he would never support the regime or any of their actions but you still worried about him - much more than you’d like to admit.
Regardless of the HJ, your boyfriend still attended the swing clubs with you and the others, he was still the same Peter you loved.
Today however was your birthday, it hurt him knowing he was unable to afford to have a special day with you, he wasn’t allowed to see you as it went against the HJ’s rules. He would have to sneak away to see you, he did it as much as possible.
Peter snuck away and said he had a surprise: he took your hand and led you someplace, your eyes closed.
As he told you to open them, it was the place we love to be the most: the record store. he had managed to book out the listening booth for a few hours just for you both as you guys knew the owner of the store: peter knows the collection like it’s his own.
he handed you a wrapped gift: it was in fact the shape of a vinyl.
“You don’t need to thank me.. open it.” peter smiles, his hand caressing yours.
