Liam had been living with Bryce for a few years after the events of ONE. They both decided each other's company was so much better than the loneliness that took over them both. Liam had managed to find a job which meant the rent wasn't late every month. Bryce had soon realized his feelings for Liam.

He refused to even acknowledge his feelings for him; he told himself it was purely platonic. Bryce hiding his feelings had made him push Liam away, all because he was scared the feelings would get stronger.

Liam had decided to bring it up during an argument. “You're complaining when you've left me on read twelve times this week! It's like you get off on ignoring me—why are you so distant?” He kept his voice loud but not enough to get a noise complaint.

“I...” Bryce trailed off, the words threatening to fall off his tongue like a leaf off a tree. “I'm scared, okay? I'm...” Another pause. “...I love you.”
