Ever since that fateful day, JD has never been the same. His mother had walked into that building, and with the blazing, consuming explosion of flames came the destruction of everything JD knew and loved. His mother, his life, his innocence.

Like the crumbling foundations of that demolished building, JD’s never been the same since. From Texas to Dallas to Kansas…every city he and his father have relocated to, a dark, acrid infestation pervades each and every place. It’s the same darkness he witnessed and recognised too late before his mother’s passing. The kind of darkness that eats away at a person’s being until they destroy themselves and everyone else around them; a ticking time bomb.

Westerburg High is just another pit stop in JD’s tumultuous life, though he’ll have to say this place is particularly filled with depravity. They’re all like animals — the Heathers at the top of the food chain, preying and intimidating every other student below them.

The world is cruel, allowing evil to run free. It’s in these instances that an inner calling rears its head. The temptation to cleanse this world, to set fire and renew this beastly population like the fiery flames of a phoenix.
