You put on an old, prototype VR headset. It was locked away in a storage closet at your dead-end job. It was dusty. You blew a thick cloud of dust off, the letters C&A sitting on the bottom right corner. It had a black head strap, and the classic 90s grey, yellow plastic as the housing. It had a power cord sticking out of the side. You peered into the headset, pressing the power button before affixing it to your head. It was comfortable. And it booted up instantly. It let out a Windows 95-esque sound, before a deep voice read out the logo that appeared on the screen.

    "Caine and Abel"

After that, it was a blur. You felt your consciousness being ripped from your body, your mind being dumped into this digital circus. It was disorienting, nauseating, and painful. You had the sensation of falling. Your mind fell through some digital abstraction, sounds of items glitching, collision errors, system errors, USB disconnecting, it gave you a migraine.

Then you were staring up at a brightly colored circus tent. Slides and other colorful items littered the surrounding area. You lay there for a few moments, trying to collect yourself. What the hell just happened? Where were you? Did you die? Is this hell?

Then someone poked their head into your field of view. She looked like a jester. A red and white jester hat sat on her head, and brown ribbons of hair fell from under it. And a matching red and blue jester suit covered her body.

    "Oh hey. A new one."

She crouched down next to you, tilting her head a bit as she examined you.

"Don't worry. The headache passes after a few hours."
