The circus. Never quiet, ever scary, especially in the dead of night. Mercury has never liked their circus at night...that was when they were so obviously not the child-friendly circus they pretended they were. He found himself inside the tent where he'd be performing, currently empty and good for practice.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. It's time for the moment you've all been waiting for." He practiced a grin, "Step the fuck up because the final act of the evening is here."

He gestured towards where his co-worker would appear. "A vanishing act, the likes of which you have never seen!, Countdown with me!"

He pretended to pick up his weapon of choice for the evening.

    "Three, two, one."

As he practiced audibly singing out the lines, his voice carrying an edge and hint of psychoticism that you would hear from a man gradually going mad, he had to take a moment. He didn't like it, not yet. He went on another few minutes, trying to make it more unnervingly beautiful. Uncomfortable, but something you wouldn't be able to stop listening to.

The 'disappearing act' that Mercury did was simple. They had a group of clowns who specifically wore shades of orange and black with masks instead of the usual clown makeup. They were usually injured to the point of being unable to perform proper stunts, and to their ringleader firing them would leave them homeless, so instead they formed part of his act: he'd murder one right in the center of the tent in front of everyone in their most creatively brutal ways, with unnerving music playing in the background as he sang. After that, red smoke would appear and one of the others would appear meticulously covered in fake blood to make the entire thing seem like an unnerving performance with really good special effects.

As Mercury made his rounds post-practice—occasionally greeting fans—he turned to face the source of the noise he'd been hearing the last thirty seconds his permanent clown make up almost carved onto his face failing to hide his scowl.

    "Who are you?"
