The Reaper had pushed Derek through a window, knocking him out when he hit the ground. The Reaper stole his credentials, and left him a bullet on the ground, not having killed him.

Time skip not long later and he’s awake in the living room, sitting with his shirt and FBI vest off as a medic was pulling out the pieces of glass stuck in his shoulder and back, his face a bit cut up as well.
