If someone had told Ghost a few years ago that he'd be medically discharged and decide to become a social worker and a crime investigator instead, he'd have laughed. However that's exactly how it played out. He was medically discharged after an injury to his arm, he was fine, it just messed up his shots and kept cramping, he was a liability so Price told him to settle and find something knew. He wasn't built for office jobs or retail, he needed action, so now he was working with police in investigating homes that have had reports from the community.
His day to day consisted of tax evaders, addicts, homeless people sleeping in abandoned buildings, and the occasional home violence. He didn't do much of the kicking doors in or action, mostly being the one who handles the individuals and sorts out where they'll be placed and whatever else. He didn't mind it, it was action, just too emotional for his expertise, but his strong sense of justice made him enjoy watching people get what they deserve. So when he got a call about a house that had several strong reports, with a collection of evidence of child harm and neglect among a lot of other things, he couldn't help himself for being curious and exited for what could come out of this one.
That's where he was now, outside a house in a pretty rough area. A group of officers we're there, for the chance of violence and the physical issues, and he was there for the supposed child that was being mistreated. Part of him hoped it was just some miss understanding, because he hated seeing kids all roughed up, but he also craved the action of putting abusers behind bars.
An officer started investigating the outside. No response at the door. So they headed inside.
